Dessert with acacia flowers

Dessert with acacia flowers

Mix eggs, flour (whole amount), milk, baking powder and 1 lb sugar with the mixer or whisk, so as not to become lumpy. Refrigerate for 20 minutes.

Wash the flowers with tails and let them dry.

Remove the dough from the fridge and place a frying pan with oil on the large eye. The donuts will be made at the right fire. Pass the flowers through the dough, twist them and fry them with a tail. Turn from side to side and place on napkins.

At the end, they are powdered with sugar.

We are used to preparing all kinds of salted pancakes at home, which we can then serve as an aperitif or with a rice or a good mashed potato, along with sauces or salads.

But why not also prepare sweet breads?

When I was a child, a neighbor served me with breaded acacia flowers. I found them very interesting! I hadn't eaten anything like that before, because my mother didn't cook them.

But I remember with pleasure that my mother sometimes made apples in her pajamas. They had a very nice name, and for me as a child it sounded attractive.

Now, later, I found out that the Spaniards in the Murcia area also have something like this, very interesting, in their kitchen. They make lemon leaf breadcrumbs, and call them: & # 8220Paparajotes & # 8221.

So, in the following, I will present these recipes.

Pick a few large, healthy lemon leaves, wash and wipe with a paper towel.
The same is done with acacia inflorescences.
2 apples are washed and cut transversely into 0.5 cm rounds.

Prepare a thicker pancake batter:
1 or
1 cup of mineral water or soda
1 cup of milk
250 gr flour
6 lg sugar
2 sachets of vanilla sugar

Mix all ingredients together.
Pass the flowers, leaves and apples through the dough one by one and fry them in hot oil. Remove to a tray covered with a paper towel to absorb the oil.

Acacia flowers and lemon leaves are powdered with vanilla sugar and apples with cinnamon.

  • Take the acacia flowers, wash them under running water, drain them on a towel
  • Beat the eggs with a whisk, mix with the sugar and then add a little salt, milk and flour
  • Then add mineral water, a teaspoon of vanilla essence
  • Leave the dough to stand for 15-20 minutes
  • Dip a sprig of acacia flowers in the pancake batter, then fry each in hot oil.

Sunday dessert: Donuts with acacia flowers

We dipped the acacia flowers in a lot of water, then we let them drain on a grill, until they burst from the water. From eggs, flour, sugar, vanilla sugar, baking powder and water, I made a pancake shell, a thicker idea.
I put oil in a pan and put it on the fire, heat it. I kept the fire right and didn't let the oil smoke.
Now came the torment: each flower stem had to be given through the shell and then fried in oil.

I set to work, but I realized that I was struggling too much and the end result had no commercial face. In addition, those rods are sticky and cannot be eaten. Therefore, after two or three attempts, I gave up. Not at all! I just thought there would be no fire and I wouldn't even give it to the newspaper if I mixed the broken popcorn from the stem in the shell. Said and done!

Cravings in pregnancy & ndash when and why they occur

From the composition I took it with a spoon and fried it in oil. It went much faster and the donuts came out beautiful.
After they were fried nicely on both sides, I took them out on paper napkins to get rid of the oil surprise, then I placed them nicely on a plate and dusted them with plenty of powdered sugar.

Given that acacia flowers pass quickly, let's say that once or twice a year is worth doing something more unusual.

ACACLE - biblical flower, healing of diseases

Acacia is mentioned in the Bible as a blessed tree. As the Old Testament accounts in the Exodus show, the wood of this tree is as valuable as the precious metals — gold, silver, and copper.

God commanded Moses to use the acacia wood to make the ark of the law, a table for the bread brought as an offering, pillars for the tent of meeting, and the incense altar. (Old Testament, Exodus 25: 5).

The acacia that grows in the Holy Land (Acacia Tortilis) is different from our Romanian acacia (Robinia pseudoacacia). We will talk in this article about the acacia with white flowers, strongly smelling from our country.

Acacia flowers, leaves, seeds and bark are used for therapeutic purposes, although their chemical composition differs. The seeds contain calcium, protein, fat, fiber, phosphorus and many other vitamins and minerals in small amounts. The flowers contain compounds that are converted to quercetin and sugar after hydrolysis. The flowers and leaves can be dried and later used as natural remedies for various health problems.

Acacia flowers can be eaten as such, raw, added to salads, yogurt, cereals with milk, pancakes, donuts, lemonades, syrups, cocktails.

Acacia & # 8211 therapeutic uses

Acacia flowers are known for their diuretic, tonic, calming, emollient and anti-spasmodic properties. Some people eat acacia flowers (cooked) to treat eye problems. The flowers contain a compound that can fight tumors. Crushed, acacia flowers can be applied externally to heal the skin after burning and left for a few hours.

♣ Gastritis, ulcer, heartburn

A beneficial infusion can be prepared from a teaspoon of acacia flowers and 1 cup of boiling water. Drinking after meals, acacia tea helps to calm the burning sensation or stomach pain, being especially useful for people suffering from gastritis, gastric or duodenal ulcer.

In longer treatments, use acacia flower powder (1 teaspoon, 3 times a day before meals). The cure lasts a month, and can be repeated after a month's break. Acacia flower powder is obtained by grinding dried flowers through a coffee grinder.

♣ Constipation

In case of constipation, mix 3 tablespoons of acacia powder with a little honey. Consume 1 tablespoon a day, in the morning, before meals. This treatment is gentle, and can also be used by children or women.

♣ Detoxification

Acacia bark contains several toxins, and for this reason the dose should not be exceeded. The decoction of acacia bark is prepared from 30 g of bark, boiled in a liter of water for 10-15 minutes. Drink 2 teas a day before meals. Helps disinfect the intestines.

♣ Cough, hoarseness, asthma, bronchitis

Acacia flowers are rich in volatile oils with natural antitussive properties. The acacia infusion is drunk as hot as possible.

♣ Stress, anxiety, migraines

The intoxicating scent of acacia flowers gives us a state of peace and quiet. Acacia flowers are famous for their relaxing and calming effects. To ward off stress and migraines, a one-month cure can be made with 1-2 cups of acacia infusion per day.

♣ Depression, memory disorders, insomnia

Acacia flowers have an extraordinary anti-depressant action, which also helps to remedy memory disorders. They can be consumed raw, in the form of infusion, or powder.

Acacia remedies should be avoided by pregnant women, nursing mothers and young children. Some people may be allergic to these flowers. If you are taking medication, seek medical advice before trying a new natural remedy.

Aromatic recipes with acacia flowers

Used in the medical industry, the perfume industry, but also in gastronomy, freshly picked or dried acacia flowers are used by many housewives to prepare aromatic recipes or natural remedies. Few know that, being rich in flavonoids, tannins, resins, carotenoids, volatile essential oils, minerals and glycosides, it is very healthy to consume them in various forms, bringing benefits in curing diseases you did not expect.

Conditions that can be treated with decoction, infusion, powder or syrup of acacia flowers or their consumption as such, fresh, just like you eat fruit:

- gastric disorders, from esophageal reflux to gastritis, early forms of ulcer, irritable bowel syndrome, constipation or diarrhea

- mild colds, accompanied by cough

- symptoms of asthma

- neuralgia, especially dental

- symptoms of stress and depression

- abdominal or muscle cramps

You have probably heard more often about honey from acacia flowers than from syrups or desserts flavored with them, but acacia, as it is also called acacia flower, has a fine and discreet scent, which makes it suitable for various recipes. From the traditional infusion, which has a lot of health benefits, to cakes that are hard to resist, the acacia flower can be the main ingredient that gives a refined taste to the dishes in which it is added. We present you some such recipes, very easy to prepare.

Acacia flower syrup

- Acacia flowers, about two kilograms

- two kilograms of sugar (its a kilogram and a half of sugar for each kilogram of flowers, if you prefer a sweeter taste)

Method of preparation:

Keep acacia flowers in cold water, then wash the acacia flowers under a stream of cold water to remove dust, dry leaves or insects. The flowers are detached from the tails and boiled in boiling water for 20 minutes, after which they are left to cool and soak overnight, covering the pot in which they boiled. Then, strain the liquid through a fine sieve, then mix with the sugar and vanilla. Add the lemon slices. Boil together with the sugar until the syrup binds, as in jam. It is then stored in bottles or jars, kept warm, wrapped in beds, until completely cooled (about two days).

Depending on the taste, you can also use a mixture of acacia flowers with shock flowers.

It is consumed diluted in water or used to flavor lemonade. Acacia syrup can be consumed as such, with a teaspoon, just like honey, if you face various digestive problems or have a sore throat. It has a calming effect, due to the aroma, so it helps you sleep better and get over stress more easily. The same syrup is a good adjunct in curing diseases of the respiratory tract or nervous system.

Acacia flower jam

- 500 grams of acacia flowers

- one squeezed lemon (or two, three if small)

Method of preparation:

Boil water and sugar until they form a syrup. The flowers separated from the clusters and the green part, well washed in cold water, are then scalded in boiling water. Drain well, then put in the syrup of water and sugar together with the lemon juice and boil until the jam binds. Its color will be dark. You transfer it to a clean jar and you can keep it over the winter. It can be served plain or as a topping for various desserts.

Acacia flowers in the dough

- 20-25 fresh acacia flowers, in bunches

- 5 teaspoons of honey (also ideal for acacia)

- 2 tablespoons oil or melted butter

- a sachet of vanilla sugar

Method of preparation:

Wash the flowers well in cold water to remove dust, impurities or any insects, then place them on a clean towel to soak up the water. Mix eggs with sugar and salt until a thick paste is formed. Add the rest of the ingredients, mixing well. The dough obtained will be like the one for pancakes.

Pass the flowers through the dough and then fry them in a hot oil bath, like ordinary donuts. After draining the oil, you can serve them as such, powdered with sugar or a little honey.

Donuts or pancakes with acacia flowers

- a cup of yogurt or whipped milk

- half a cup of sugar

- baking powder or baking soda, a sachet or a teaspoon

- flour, about half a kilogram

Method of preparation:

Acacia flowers are washed in cold water, then drained. Beat the eggs with the sugar and salt, then add the yogurt and flour. Bake the powder with lemon or vinegar and add it, or incorporate it into the flour beforehand. The dough will be a little thicker than the pancakes. As in the recipe above, the acacia flowers are passed through this dough or sprinkled with dough with a spoon, then fried in hot oil. If they have been shaken or you have already shaken them, you can mix them in the dough and pour the donuts with a spoon into the bowl in which you fry them. When it gets a golden color, put it on a paper napkin to drain the oil. Serve preferably hot, powdered with sugar or plain.

If you fry them whole, they will look like donuts. If you use shaken flowers, they will look flat, like pancakes or meatballs.

If you do not want to eat fried, you can try to place them in a tray, on a baking sheet and bake them over medium or high heat. They should be lightly browned in a few minutes.
